Privacy Policy

Beta version

Effective date: 27 Aug 2026 · Last updated: 27 Aug 2026

Your child's information belongs to your family's story. We use it to help KidCenter support you — not to turn your child's health and development into an advertising profile.

1. Your privacy matters to us

KidCenter is designed to help parents keep track of their child's health, growth, development, routines and important milestones. We understand that the information you share about your child is personal and sensitive. We aim to collect only the information we reasonably need to provide KidCenter, protect it appropriately, and give you meaningful control over it.

2. Information we collect

Depending on how you use KidCenter, we may collect:

About the parent or account holder

  • Name
  • Email address
  • Mobile number
  • Login and account information
  • Messages, feedback or support requests you send us

About the child — information that you choose to add, which may include:

  • Name, nickname, date of birth and basic profile information
  • Growth information
  • Development check-ins and milestones
  • Sleep, feeding and routine information
  • Vaccination information
  • Health observations, symptoms and care information
  • Prescription, medication or health-record information
  • Photos or documents that you choose to upload
  • Other information you voluntarily add to your child's KidCenter profile

Technical and usage information

We may collect limited technical information needed to operate, secure and improve KidCenter, such as:

  • Device and browser information
  • App or website activity
  • Log and diagnostic information
  • Error reports
  • Approximate location derived from technical information, where applicable

We do not intentionally collect more information than is reasonably necessary to provide and improve the service.

3. How we use your information

We use information to:

  • Create and manage your KidCenter account
  • Provide the features and services you request
  • Maintain your child's history and longitudinal records
  • Generate personalised summaries, reminders, patterns and insights
  • Help provide context when you use KidCenter's guidance or AI-assisted features
  • Improve the reliability, safety and performance of KidCenter
  • Respond to support requests and feedback
  • Protect against fraud, misuse or security incidents
  • Comply with applicable legal obligations

KidCenter may use automated systems or AI to help interpret information and provide personalised guidance. Such outputs are intended to support parents and are not a substitute for professional medical advice or diagnosis.

4. Your child's information

KidCenter is used by parents and guardians to manage information about their children. Children are not expected to create or operate their own KidCenter accounts.

By creating a child's profile or providing information about a child, you confirm that you are the child's parent, legal guardian, or otherwise authorised to provide that information.

We take children's information seriously and aim to use it only for purposes connected with providing and improving KidCenter and as otherwise permitted or required by law.

5. How AI and automated features use your information

Some KidCenter features may use AI or automated systems to help organise information, identify patterns or provide personalised guidance.

Where these features are used:

  • We aim to limit information shared with external AI providers to what is necessary for the requested feature.
  • Before information is sent to an external AI service we remove identifying details: your child's name and yours, dates of birth, contact details, addresses, account and record reference numbers, and the names of doctors, clinics and schools. Exact dates and times are replaced with relative wording such as "about a week ago" or "at night".
  • We send your child's age, any allergies or conditions you have recorded, and only the recent records that relate to your question — not your child's full history.
  • AI requests reach the provider through the Lovable AI Gateway, which sits between KidCenter and the AI model. KidCenter does not store your questions or the answers, but the gateway keeps operational logs of requests for a limited period, and the AI provider processes each request under its own terms and retention periods.
  • We do not intentionally use identifiable child data to train public AI models unless we clearly tell you and have an appropriate legal basis or consent where required.
  • AI-generated responses may occasionally be inaccurate or incomplete.
  • KidCenter should not be used as a substitute for emergency services, a doctor or other qualified healthcare professional.

We will continue to strengthen our controls as KidCenter's AI capabilities evolve.

6. Who we share information with

We do not sell your personal or your child's personal information.

We may share information only where reasonably necessary with trusted service providers that help us operate KidCenter, such as providers supporting:

  • Cloud hosting and secure data storage
  • Authentication and account management
  • Email and notifications
  • AI or data-processing features
  • Error monitoring and technical support

These providers may process information on our behalf and only for authorised purposes.

We may also disclose information:

  • When required by law or a valid legal process
  • To protect the safety, security or rights of KidCenter, our users or others
  • If you specifically authorise or instruct us to share information

We do not allow third parties to use your child's personal information for their own unrelated purposes without an appropriate legal basis.

7. Advertising

KidCenter's core service is not designed around selling or sharing children's personal information for targeted advertising.

If KidCenter introduces advertising, recommendations, e-commerce or commercial partnerships in the future, we will review those features carefully and update our privacy practices where necessary.

We will not knowingly use sensitive child health or development information to target advertising.

8. Data security

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures designed to protect information against unauthorised access, loss, misuse or disclosure.

These measures may include:

  • Access controls
  • Encryption where appropriate
  • Secure authentication
  • Restricted access to sensitive information
  • Secure cloud infrastructure
  • Monitoring and logging of security-relevant activity

No system can guarantee absolute security. However, we continuously work to protect the information entrusted to us.

9. How long we keep information

We generally keep information for as long as your KidCenter account is active and the information is needed to provide the service.

You may request deletion of your account and associated personal information, subject to information we may need to retain for legal, security or legitimate operational reasons.

We may retain information in anonymised or aggregated form where it can no longer reasonably identify you or your child.

10. Your choices and rights

Subject to applicable law, you may request to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you or your child
  • Correct inaccurate information
  • Update information
  • Delete your account or certain information
  • Withdraw consent where consent is the basis for processing
  • Raise questions or concerns about how information is handled

Some features may require certain information to function. If you ask us to delete information necessary for a feature, that feature may no longer work as intended.

11. Photos and uploaded documents

If you choose to upload photos, prescriptions, vaccination records or other documents, we will process them to provide the relevant KidCenter feature.

Please upload only information you are comfortable storing in KidCenter and avoid uploading information that is unrelated to your child's use of the service.

12. Third-party services

KidCenter may contain links to third-party websites or services. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies, and KidCenter is not responsible for their privacy practices.

13. Changes to this Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as KidCenter evolves, our practices change or legal requirements develop. When we make material changes, we will update the effective date and may provide additional notice where appropriate.
